Along with being a wonderful player, he is bringing back the old-school piano recital (as Franz Liszt, inventor of the form, would have done it) to interact more with the audience using multimedia, art and poetry as part of his performances. I didn’t know that maintaining and repairing these mechanical marvels require him to manufacture the parts he needs! It’s very cool.

Credited with almost singlehandedly raising the art of quilting to archaeological, historical and academic status, she has written twelve books, many of which are about quilting and the amazing women who made them. She specializes in Hopi quilts, but has also recounted the lives of other fascinating quilt makers in American history.

Plus he is one of the consulting physicians for two of the pro sports teams in Phoenix (the Diamondbacks and the Cardinals) and the Arizona Ballet as well. Mostly, though, we talk about the craft of orthopedic surgery, the latest techniques and the doctor’s life.
