Good Stuff

February 3, 2011

This is the last of the houses in Leiden, Holland, built c. 1320, where the Pilgrims (yes, those Pilgrims) lived in exile from 1609 until 1620 when they hopped the Mayflower for the New World. Yes, they left here and went straight to the ship in Southampton. There it is. An awesome vibe. Cool thing is, I’m taking the picture! I held an artifact handmade by one of those dudes—a clay pipe with his initials engraved. Yep, the reason this episode is a bit tardy is that I had a wee visitation with a dear friend in The Netherlands. So cold and damp and rainy in January, why not? The nude beaches of the Costa del Sol? Not me, baby. I go for Belgian beer and Vermeer and scarves and stuff. Plus, all the hotels on the Costa del Sol were booked. But now I’m returned to the Western Hemisphere and have prepared another episode of The Mikie Show for all!
